At Bedourie State School, we are committed to creating a positive, supportive and safe learning environment where all students can thrive. Our behaviour management approach is guided by our student and staff code of conduct and is underpinned by our school-wide expectations known as the Bedourie Busters.
The Bedourie Busters—our 3 pillars
We teach and promote 3 core values that shape behaviour and relationships across the school:
- Be safe
- Be respectful
- Be responsible
These pillars are explicitly taught, modelled and reinforced throughout all aspects of school life.
Positive behaviour recognition
Students who consistently demonstrate positive behaviour are acknowledged and rewarded through a variety of programs, including:
- Bear the Bedourie Buster is a teddy bear that forms part of our weekly reward given to students who uphold our school values
- Class-based rewards and whole-school acknowledgements
- Certificates and recognition during assemblies or special events
Our approach supports the development of social-emotional skills, self-regulation and a strong sense of belonging. We believe in working in partnership with families to support student growth and success.
