 Bedourie State School

Bedourie State School serves the remote community of Bedourie, which is situated on the edge of the Simpson Desert.  Our focus at this unique little school is on providing all students with opportunities to fulfil their potential by developing learning experiences that prepare them for the future, built on a solid background in literacy and numeracy.  All students are encouraged to participate in all eight of the key learning areas, and to strive for quality in whatever they do. Regardless of age, they are also provided with opportunities to take on responsibility. This whole school approach promotes a very positive school environment.

In 2016, the school became part of the Remote Kindy Pilot Program, so we now cater for students from Kindy to Year 6, with the learning content being drawn from the Australian Curriculum for the Prep to Year 6 students and from the Early Years Learning Framework for the Kindy students. Multi age groupings are used across all learning areas which allows age-appropriate pedagogies to be readily utilised.

Parent and community support is strong, and is a positive feature of our school community, allowing us to participate in a wide range of extra-curricular camps and excursions.
